“Germination”
Emerging from below, circular seeds sprout into colorful, lively abstract designs and recognizable life forms carved in relief on the sides of this pillar sculpture. Measuring 88 x 22 x 22 inches, it is made of glazed ceramic relief tiles mounted with mortar and grout on cement backerboard attached to a steel frame. The base plate and top piece are old harrow wheels.
“Germination” was installed in Loveland, Colorado on the northwest corner of E 4th Street and N Washington Avenue as part of the The Art Advocacy Project’s 2020 3-D On-Loan Sculpture Program. It is now scheduled to be on display in Alamosa, Colorado in September, 2021. This piece is available for purchase; please contact me for details.
